AH141  Þórsmörk by Super Jeep All year round

Highlights:
  • Seljalandsfoss waterfall
  • Þórsmörk

Tour Description:

We start by driving in our modified super trucks along the south shore, heading for one of the places that Icelanders appreciate most, Þórsmörk (The Woods of Thor). On a clear day it is possible to view the Eyjafjallajökull glacier where a volcano erupted in 2010.

On the way we make a stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall to walk behind the waterfall and at a former glacial lagoon. Þórsmörk is situated in a valley in the south of Iceland surrounded by three glaciers and mountains which create favourable circumstances for growth of over 170 plant species. Glacial rivers have to be crossed on the way there.
Many walking paths are marked in Þórsmörk, making it an ideal place for short hikes with views of glaciers, woodlands and other colourful landscape.

The guide was fantastic, his knowledge of pretty much everything we saw was fantastic, it was like going on a field trip with a Geography teacher. He was also very funny and made the whole trip that much more enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour to anyone considering it.
