We took the bus to Blue Lagoon at 11:00, when we arrived there was a huge cue to enter, so, as we had to leave at 14:00, we had to run too much. However, the afternoon tour was so beautiful and amazing that it was worth the morning rush.

The Blue Lagoon is of course wonderful - The remainder of the tour, Lava fields, mud pools and the Kleifarvatn Lake went more or less bananas due to the heavy snow. Our driver, Anna, did what she could - and we succeeded in visiting the mud pools in the middle of a blizzard - but from there it was a farce. Anna lost her way in the total "whiteout" - drove past where we were supposed to turn off to the main road, and we were more or less lost several times. Things were not better as we didn't have a GPS onboard - and the Reykjavik Office apparently gave wrong directions by phone, so that we ended up on a dead end and had to get out of the bus to push it around through the snowdrifts. This happened FOUR OR FIVE times - last time on the main road outside Grindavik, and we only managed to push through with the help of the passengers of a private car which had stopped as we blocked the road... Altogether a very special experience! Our driver Anna was a victim of the weather as well as the rest of us, she performed absolutely as well as can be expected during these conditions. But I wonder why you don't equip your vehicles with a GPS? And it might be a good idea to use a 4wd during winter! I realize that the weather is more or less unpredictable, and I will not hesitate to use your services again as I'm sure this tour could be a beautiful experience in nice weather! As of this time, I'll only call it "an experience"! If you might be interested in a couple of photos form the "expedition" I'll gladly mail them... --- Iceland Excursions: --- Thank you for your comments and review. This extra touroffered during the Christmas holidays did not go as planned due to the rapidchange of weather, just goes to show how unpredictable weather can be inIceland. The GPS system on the bus was working but to add to the difficultiesfor the driver the map used by the GPS system did not show the new south coastroad correctly resulting in the driver loosing direction. Glad everything wentalright in the end but glad to add that search and rescue teams are alwaysready if things had gone worse. We would like very much to have your photos ofthis adventure.

Really nice tour.

Overall a very positive experience. Felt it was a good use of the amount of time at both the Lagoon and then the rest of the afternoon. My only negative would be that I think the guide could maybe give a bit of an explanation on what to expect once you get inside the Lagoon -- I felt a bit like a fish out of water and spent a few minutes just trying to figure out the rules.

Thank you for your review and comments. Since this tour is only guided on the Krýsuvík part, our passengers are on their own at The Blue Lagoon. The staff in the reception can provide all the information needed and brochures and other information can be found there as well.
